Project Summary:

Barich, Inc. was employed to develop the requirements for a Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) system program including scope of work, RFP evaluation criteria, and contract. Once the project was awarded, Barich, Inc. project managed the implementation of a system that included significant construction elements integrated to a computer application that performed ground transport provider vehicle management in the areas of:

  1. Bus Transportation – adherence to contract service level agreements
  2. Taxi and Limousine dispatch using WIFI based handheld units and vehicular permitting and invoicing
  3. Permitting and tracking of other vehicles picking up and dropping off passengers at the airport

Upon successful initial implementation of the project, this work included a major systems upgrade, including various infrastructure improvements, and the conversion of the system to the City’s new High Availability architecture. The AVI system is now fully virtualized and has the capability to transfer operations between two off-site data centers.


Project Status:

The system upgrade/improvement was successfully completed in December 2009. The project has ongoing support.
