Common Use Business Case Development and RFP Preparation Consultant Services

Start Date:  August 2011 Client:  Greater Toronto Airports Authority
End Date:  November 2011 Type of Work:  Business Case & RFP Development
Ongoing Support:  Yes

Project Summary:

As part of the overall Airport Vision, the GTAA’s Information Technology Management group (ITM) is pursuing the opportunity of better utilizing common use technology to support the GTAA’s vision of becoming a true global hub airport. A key component of this initiative is for the GTAA to move from the current CUTE technology standard for check-in and gate counters to the more current CUPPS standard.

With this direction, the GTAA initially contracted Barich, Inc. to provide consulting support in preparing a common use Business Case as a basis for the development of an RFP package. The work product for this engagement was a Report that provided an assessment of GTAA’s business objectives/requirements and existing conditions, a set of recommendations for the common use implementation strategy, an opinion of probable cost, and a high level return on investment analysis for common use. Project activities included:

• Data Gathering through on-site inspections and interviews
• Research of similar work and recent technological changes
• Business Analysis
• Report Preparation

Base on the success of the Business Case, Barich, Inc.’s services were retained to conduct further detailed data gathering and analysis, in preparation of the systems and functional requirements / statement of work for the GTAA Request for Proposal (RFP) Package.

Project Status:

Barich, Inc. completed the development of both the Business Case and the RFP documents in November 2011. The RFP has been issued and related vendor proposals. In continuation of this work, Barich, Inc. has been awarded the Vendor Evaluation and Implementation Oversight work for this Common Use System upgrade initiative by the GTAA.
