Barich assists Phoenix Sky Harbor

As part of the contracted Technology Development Team, Barich, Inc. was recently awarded its second consecutive contract with the City of Phoenix Aviation Department. The first contract started in 2001 and continued through 2006. During the first contract term, Barich, Inc. provided technology program and project management services assisting the Department with the implementation of over $80 million in capital improvement projects. This work was in coordination with the recommendations of the 2000 Communications Master Plan. Many of the recommendations required a paradigm shift from how business is currently conducted to ways in which technology can best benefit the growing Airport needs. Near the completion of the first contracted term, Barich, Inc. staff completed the update to the Communications Master Plan, showing a continued benefit in technology development.

Since the start of the first contract, Barich staff have provided project management services for the design and implementation of the following technology projects:

  • Access control and alarm monitoring system
  • Airport wide network and cable premises distribution system
  • Airport wide wireless system
  • Automated fingerprint identification system
  • CUTE system upgrade
  • Integrated audio and visual paging system
  • Labor management system (project scoping only)
  • Parking revenue control system upgrade (QA/QC services)
  • Parking space count system (under development)
  • Property management system (project coordination with Business & Properties Div)
